Clout PR (@Cloutpr4Gsu) is a relatively new, student-run organization that acts as an on-campus PR firm. Together with Clout PR, “Just the Facts” will be trying to get some student attention in GSU’s courtyard and beyond. That’s not to say that we won’t try to reach through to other schools, but both James and I are based in GSU so it’ll be easier to start there and then think about how to reach Kennesaw, Emory, Perimeter, Tech, and other colleges. For now we’re focusing on GSU and we’ve got quite a regimen lined up.
Specifically, President of Clout PR, Tyler Green, and I have come up with a cool strategy to get GSU students interested that doesn’t involve making funny videos and violently pushing flyers into uninterested students’ hands (although that is fun and we might do it). Instead, or perhaps, in addition to that, Clout PR is going to help us rent rooms and host a mini panel discussion about various topics we’ll cover in the podcast. A prelude to what will come to be online.
One panelist students might be interested in seeing is Dr. Andrea Jurjevic (@andrea_jurjevic ), a poet and a Croat, who recently came out with her new book of poems entitled Small Crimes. She has already volunteered to be interviewed for the show.
Inspired by The Sun Magazine’s writing event, ‘Into the Fire,’ I propose that she discuss how to read and enjoy poetry; we have yet to confirm this as the topic.
Other panelists may range from Journalists to TEDx speakers. Of course, we’ll be aiming for a more intimate audience and, as such, the event won’t be as grand as GSU’s Modern Media Conference. But if we get a good turnout, we can expect a good deal of growth for our podcast! A bigger launch is a better one!
